The Fangs pattern is angular and direct. Black shapes cut across a sand ground — not as decoration applied on top, but as structure woven into the fabric itself. The geometry of this geometric wool area rug emerges from the alternation of threads, built simultaneously with the weave, row by row.
The baeton technique gives the surface more body than a standard flat weave. Each shape has a slight relief to it — the black sections sit just a fraction higher than the sand ground, catching the light differently depending on the angle.
Both tones are achieved through natural dyes only. The sand comes from plants and minerals of the Argentine highlands. The black from the same region, the same tradition. No synthetic pigments at any stage.
This geometric wool area rug is made by artisan cooperatives in northern Argentina on wooden looms, using hand-spun wool. A graphic piece made by hands that have woven these same patterns, in different combinations, for generations.
Available from 3×5 ft to 9×12 ft. This pattern can also be made in custom colorways — for bespoke inquiries, visit our Bespoke Rugs page. Interior designers are welcome to contact us through our Trade Program.
