Natural and camel. Two tones that are close in the spectrum but distinct in character — one untouched, the color of the fleece itself; one dyed with natural pigments that bring warmth and depth.
The Grid Rug is a grid pattern wool rug where the squares emerge from the structure of the baeton weave. They are not printed, not applied — each one formed by alternating the two tones in sequence, row by row, until the geometry appears. The baeton technique gives the surface more body than a flat weave, and each square has a slight raised quality that catches light at an angle.
The grid is a pattern that disappears and reappears depending on how you look at it. From across the room it reads as texture. Up close, it becomes geometry.
This grid pattern wool rug is made entirely by hand, without electricity, by artisan cooperatives in northern Argentina that have worked with this technique for generations. The camel tone in particular — warm without being orange, golden without being loud — is one of the most requested in the ANDINA palette.
