Gray with black. Not a pattern — a mark. Two dark stripes run the length of this gray wool runner rug, set against a smokey gray ground. Close together, near the center, they read as a single quiet line from a distance and as two distinct elements up close.
Both tones are achieved with natural dyes only. The gray from pigments that produce warmth rather than coolness. The black from the same tradition — roots, bark, minerals from the region where the rug is made.
Flat weave, built without electricity on a wooden loom in northern Argentina. The stripes are woven into the structure of the piece — not printed, not applied. They are part of the weave itself, which means they have the same texture and depth as everything around them.
This gray wool runner rug works in hallways, beside beds, and in kitchens — anywhere a long, grounded piece is needed without bringing in a strong color or a busy pattern.
