Burgundy is one of the few colors that changes a room without being asked to. It doesn’t sit in the background — it holds its ground. Against pale walls, natural timber, or stone, it reads as a decision. Not a loud one. A considered one.
The Solid Burgundy wool rug achieves its tone through hand-dyeing with natural pigments drawn from plants and minerals native to northern Argentina. No synthetic dyes at any point in the process. The color you see has a depth that comes from the layering of natural dye over hand-spun fiber — a depth that synthetic process can approximate but not fully replicate. The surface has the slight tonal variation that underpins all natural dyeing: not inconsistency, but life.
Flat weave, no pile. Dense and even, built without electricity on a wooden loom by artisan cooperatives in the remote highlands of northern Argentina. The same families, the same techniques, generation after generation. From shearing to the final row, every step happens within the same community.
This solid burgundy wool rug works in living rooms that need a color anchor, in dining spaces where the floor should hold its own, and in bedrooms where a warm, grounded tone is preferred over neutrals. The flat weave surface works under furniture without buckling.
