Sand in a pom pom weave is a different proposal than sand in a flat weave. The color is the same, but the object is different. Where the solid or striped sand rug presents a flat, even surface, the pom pom version is dimensional — each raised element casts a small shadow, the surface shifts with the light, and the overall effect is depth without contrast.
The Pom Pom Rug in Sand is a single-tone piece where all the work is in the texture. No color to read, no pattern to follow — just the repetition of hand-placed wool elements across the full surface.
After the base is flat-woven on a wooden loom in northern Argentina, each pom pom is tied into the structure individually, trimmed by hand, and set into position. The sand dye is applied before weaving begins, extracted from minerals and plants native to the Argentine highlands.
This pom pom wool area rug works in living rooms and bedrooms where a neutral piece with presence is needed — more textured than a solid, more restrained than a patterned piece. The sand tone places it comfortably alongside almost any palette.
