“Woven in the highlands of northern Argentina, where the pace of work follows the seasons. Each thread hand-spun, each row placed with intention. No two pieces identical.
The Calandria is a handwoven wool area rug made entirely from pure sheep wool — sheared, spun, and dyed by hand within the same artisan community. The Wood & Sand colorway draws from the earth itself: warm taupes, quiet creams, the color of dry grass and river stone. Both tones are achieved with natural dyes derived from flowers, bark, and native plants of the region.
The flat weave construction of this handwoven wool area rug is precise and low-profile, suited to both layered interiors and clean, minimal spaces. Its weight and density come not from pile, but from the structure of the weave — the result of a technique passed down through generations without interruption.
At ANDINA, every rug is made without synthetic materials, industrial energy, or mass production of any kind. The process is slow by design. It takes as long as it takes.
Available from 3×5 ft to 9×12 ft. Each piece can also be made to a custom size or palette — for bespoke inquiries, visit our Bespoke Rugs page. Interior designers working on residential or commercial projects are welcome to contact us through our Trade Program.
