Some rugs are neutral by nature. The Calandria in Wood & Black is something else — a quiet contrast that works because neither tone is competing. The warm wood draws from bark and root. The black is a deep, earthy pigment derived from the same plant-based process that defines everything made here.

This wool flat weave area rug is built from pure sheep wool, hand-spun and dyed within a single artisan community in the highlands of northern Argentina. The weave is flat and tight, with a surface that carries just enough texture to show the hand behind it — the slight irregularity of the spun yarn, the small variations that industrial production would remove and that here are kept as a matter of course.

The Wood & Black colorway brings definition. It works in rooms that are already considered — where a piece of furniture or a light fixture is doing something specific — and it holds its ground without demanding attention. A wool flat weave area rug that reads clearly at a distance and rewards a closer look.

Made without synthetic materials, electricity, or production at scale. Each piece takes as long as it takes.

Available from 3×5 ft to 9×12 ft. Custom sizes and colorways through our Bespoke Rugs page. Interior designers can explore trade pricing and request samples via our Trade Program.

Behind every ANDINA piece lies the work of artisan weavers living in remote regions of northern Argentina.

Their craft, passed down through generations, is a quiet dialogue between tradition, nature, and time. Using pure, natural fibers and ancestral techniques, they create textiles that embody both cultural heritage and contemporary simplicity.

Each rug, cushion, and throw is the result of patience, skill, and respect—for the land, for the materials, and for the people who keep these traditions alive.
