A strike-off is a small section of the actual rug — woven by hand, in the exact design, color and fiber of the final piece — produced before the full order enters production. It exists to eliminate the gap between specification and reality.

Photography cannot accurately capture how a handwoven rug reads in a specific room under specific light. A strike-off can. It shows the true color of the dyed yarn under your project’s lighting conditions, the actual texture and density of the weave, and the visual weight of the pattern at scale. For high-value custom orders, this step removes the single biggest source of risk.

The strike-off is produced by the same artisans who will weave the full piece, on the same loom, using the same fiber and dye lot. It is not an approximation — it is the rug, in miniature. Once approved, production of the full piece begins.

Generic strike-offs are available from stock for designers who want to assess ANDINA’s weave quality and material before specifying. Custom strike-offs are woven to your exact specifications — specify your design, color and fiber in the field above before ordering.

Behind every ANDINA piece lies the work of artisan weavers living in remote regions of northern Argentina.

Their craft, passed down through generations, is a quiet dialogue between tradition, nature, and time. Using pure, natural fibers and ancestral techniques, they create textiles that embody both cultural heritage and contemporary simplicity.

Each rug, cushion, and throw is the result of patience, skill, and respect—for the land, for the materials, and for the people who keep these traditions alive.

At ANDINA, we are committed to responsible craftsmanship and environmental stewardship. Through our partnership with a local NGO, a tree is planted in northern Argentina for every order placed—contributing to reforestation and the preservation of native ecosystems.
