Two panels. One coffee — the natural brown of the sheep, undyed and unchanged from the animal. One sand — achieved with natural pigments from plants and minerals of the Argentine highlands. The same wool, two different stories, woven side by side.
The Coffee & Sand is a two tone wool area rug where the composition is structural. The split between the colors is not a printed line — it is the boundary between two sections of weave, as precise as the hands that made it. Up close, the leather ANDINA label sits at the corner where the two tones meet.
Flat weave, no pile. Dense and even, built without electricity on a wooden loom in northern Argentina. The undyed coffee section has the slight tonal variation that raw fiber always carries. The sand section, hand-dyed, catches the light differently.
This two tone wool area rug works well with dark wood furniture and natural stone — materials that share its palette without competing with its composition.
